N C R Update

Dear Member,

We are writing to share a summary of recent updates to the Motorsport UK National Competition Rules (NCR), Edition 2, published last week.

These changes are designed to strengthen safety, improve clarity and consistency across disciplines, and ensure our regulations continue to reflect modern motorsport practice.

Below is a high-level overview of the most relevant updates for members:

• RTA Disqualifications (Road Traffic Act driving licences) are now formally included in the NCR, including UK Crown Dependencies - meaning if you lose your RTA driving licence, you will be unable to compete
• FIA Impact Data Recorders (IDR) are mandated for British, National status and Junior Championships
• Race safety clarifications and speed event safety updates
